ABOUT KTHT
Katie Sires and her self-proclaimed band of “Honky Tonk Dorks” hail from Waterloo, Iowa. Known for Katie’s awe-inspiring vocal talent, storytelling, live performances, and dedication to the classic country sound. Katie and the Honky Tonks have hit the road with Emily Nenni, opened for Ian Munsick at Xtream Arena, and played numerous country music festivals around the midwest. They’ve also shared the stage with notable artists like Dale Watson, Josh Turner, and Jon Pardi.
Their debut album, Ain’t No Shame, OUT NOW builds on the success of their 2024 EP, Two-Steppin’ in the Shower, which solidified their place in the Midwest country music scene. The EP earned widespread recognition, with Iowa Public Radio saying, “The EP sounds more like Nashville 1964, not Nashville 2024.” Lonesome Highway, in a review of "Ain't No Shame' says, "Katie and the Honky Tonks join the ever-growing canon of women like Summer Dean, Emily Nenni, Sarah Gayle Meech and Kimmi Bitter, to name but a few, that are representing genuine honky tonk music."
KTHT's debut album 'Ain't No Shame' has grabbed the attention of the Recording Academy and has been selected for consideration for Best Traditional Country Album at the 2025 Grammys. Katie and the Honky Tonks have also won Country Artist of the Year at the 2025 Iowa Music Awards.
