ABOUT KTHT
Katie Sires and her self-proclaimed band of “Honky Tonk Dorks” hail from Waterloo, Iowa. Known for Katie’s awe-inspiring vocal talent, storytelling, live performances, and dedication to the classic country sound. Katie and the Honky Tonks have toured with Emily Nenni, opened for Ian Munsick at Xtream Arena, and played numerous country music festivals. They’ve also shared the stage with notable artists like Dale Watson, Josh Turner, and Jon Pardi.
Their debut album, Ain’t No Shame, is set to be released on June 27th, 2025, and builds on the success of their 2024 EP, Two-Steppin’ in the Shower, which solidified their place in the Midwest country music scene. The EP earned widespread recognition, with Iowa Public Radio saying, “The EP sounds more like Nashville 1964, not Nashville 2024.” It also earned them a nomination for Best Country Artist at the 2024 Iowa Music Awards.
KTHT’s dynamic rhythm section is anchored by Brian John McCarty, whose bass lines provide a solid backbone, while his harmonies add emotional depth. Luke Jerry brings the energy with punchy grooves on drums, while Jesse Cotton rounds out the ensemble with his masterful guitar work on his Telecaster. Together, they create a sound as timeless as honky tonk itself.
They have shared the stage with:
Dale Watson, Emily Nenni, William Elliott Whitmore, Josh Turner, Jon Pardi, Marshall Tucker Band, Whitey Morgan, Lee Brice, Brett Young, Eli Young Band, Joshua Ray Walker, George Ducas, Marques Morel
Festival Appearances:
Big Country Bash, Wild Cat Country Fest, 80-35 Music Fest, Cedar Basin Music Fest, Yee-Hah Jamboree
